Register now for the Winter 2020 Pedagogy Course!

The New School for Music Study, the laboratory school of the Frances Clark Center for Keyboard Pedagogy, continues its pedagogy course offerings this winter with "Charting the Course: Excellence in Elementary Teaching and Beyond." This course will include five two-hour pedagogy forums designed to increase effectiveness in all areas of piano teaching from the elementary to late-elementary levels. The course will include lectures, reflection discussions on teaching, independent reading, observation of videotaped teaching, special projects, and webinars. On alternate weeks, Pedagogy Course with Practicum participants are invited to observe New School group and private lessons, as arranged with the Educational Director. Classes will be every other Wednesday, 10:00AM-12:00PM, running from January 8 through March 13, 2020.
I would recommend this course to any teacher. The result was that my students learned more this year with greater comprehension of concepts and were able to perform with confidence on the various student recitals I held throughout the year.

Between these features, the choir will perform Benjamin Britten's Hymn to Saint Cecilia, reflecting Westminster Choir's spirit and mission as it "appeared and inspired" thousands of choral musicians over the past century.
