Martha Schrempel on Claude Debussy Wednesday, October 17, 2018

Dear Colleagues,

Willow Grove chapter of PA Music Teachers Assn. All BCAPT member are invited to attend free of charge.

Our chapter will host Martha Schrempel, a Julliard graduate, and a Doctor of Musical Arts from Temple University.

Dr. Schrempel has performed throughout the US, Europe and the Caribbean. She has toured the Czech Republic four times and has given Master classes in Bulgaria and Albania.

She is on the faculty at Moravian College. Her presentation will include a discussion of Claude Debussy's musical style and what makes it so unique and how to present it to students.

Desirable technique needed to play this music will be examined as well as the imagery and stories behind Debussy's music.
Works in a similar style by other composers will be explored including music for beginners and intermediate students.

The location for this workshop is at Settlement Music School, 318 Davisville Rd., Willow Grove, PA 19090

We are fortunate to have the use of the Recital Hall which is on the first floor. The Hall has a magnificent Grand Piano, which together with Martha's playing, will do justice to Debussy's music.

There is ample parking in the back of the building and the entrance to the building is also in the back.

Look forward to seeing you at Settlement on October 17th at 10:00AM.
